Small Town, USA

Wednesday, 2 September 2009

My current day job has been keeping me rather busy but it's also allowing me to see a lot of the small towns in Oklahoma. Not too glamourous but they do have some sort of charm. Just avoid the people...

Good weather, Chill times..

Somewhat boring photos, I know. Sometimes I want to take a day off from photography but it feels odd not bringing the camera with me.
Enjoy.

Dobbs Ferry Station - Holga

Wednesday, 22 July 2009

Lately I've been working hardcore on my artwork.
I'm trying to get into some art galleries.
I'm trying to get my name out into the world.
This is just one of my many Holga images.
Perhaps you'll see more.

5 Things (7-19)

Sunday, 19 July 2009

Been a long time since I did an edition of "5 Things I Like Right Now", so I figured it was about that time again for me to compile a list of ... 5 things that I like right now.

#1) Since Harry Potter was for me, a huge Harry Potter fan, somewhat of a disappointment, I have turned my back on movies. At least until 09/09/09, when Tim Burton's new movie "9" comes out. The film is absolutely visually stunning, and the storyline is very intriguing. You can watch the trailer below.

#2) Pretty women. Parties. Occasional Nakedness. Traveling. Random Photography. All things that I love (in moderation), and all things that you can find at lastnightsparty.

#3) I'm always on the look for new clothing companies that produce excellente tee's. I'm a huge fan of t-shirts, and the more creative, yet simple, the better. One that I recently ran across is Ideall Clothing Shop. I have to add this one to my collection sooner than later.

#4) justhearit is a beta site aimed at becoming the most innovation on demand music service online. Basically, you can instantly listen to any song you want without paying, or signing up for anything.

#5) Is 2009 the year Trey Songz emerges as a major roleplayer in r&b? In my opinion, Trey has always been one of the best, and I even went so far as to buy his last cd last year on the strength of two really good singles. This year, with the meteoric rise of one of his close friends Drake, Trey has seemingly taken his career to another level. With an album coming out soon, he's been putting out a ton of material, and this mixtpe, Anticipation, is definitely worth the dl.

Polaroid Photography.

Friday, 17 July 2009

While I'm not pretty good at it, I love to admire photography and through my experiences on the internet have run into some pretty talented photographers. One of them is Mel Anderson, and when I saw she had a book, "Polaroid: Instant Gratification", I just had to showcase it. In her own words she describes it:

"In hopes of introducing some to a world they've never quite seen in this day and age, I've created this dedication to an art form that I've grown to love. And to those whom share my passion, to help keep it alive for years to come. Even if the advancements in photography push this under the rug, so to speak, this will be a time capsule of what once was for my children and their children, and their children's children and so on."

You can preview the book here. I suggest you all check it out.

A Moment in New York

Friday, 8 May 2009

What a place. Too bad it's way too expensive to live in this place.
Well, at least Manhattan. Brooklyn it is!
I uploaded the large image so enjoy the extra detail(when clicked).

Ridin' the Chevy

Thursday, 7 May 2009

One thing good about Oklahoma...
There's always a truck around when you need one.
A few good ol' boys on their way out of the city.

Small note, I will probably be changing cities soon.
Dallas Texas will be my new home.

Homeless in London...

Tuesday, 5 May 2009

This is a homeless man I saw in Liverpool Street.. I was on my way home from the release of a pair of new shoes, and was taking some photo's of possible things I could upload onto flickr, and came across a homeless man, peacefully thinking, or asleep perhaps.

For a minute or two, I stood there watching him. Wondering what was on his mind, how did he get to this point in his life, is he happy, does he have any children, what is his name etc.

As I pointed my camera towards him, I could see one eye open. I could tell he was awake, but there was a hawthorn affect as he knew I was taking photos and played up towards the camera. At this point, I didn't know whether he was going to suddenly jump up, and charge at me, so I took a couple shots of him, and thought that this was the best one by far.

This is my first photo of the many homeless people in and around London, and without a doubt, one of the less shocking cases of homeless people in London. I don't know whether I should continue shooting homeless people, because I know I wouldn't particularly be in favour of someone taking a photo of me in that situation, so next time I think I might just ask permission.

Seeing things like this, just reminds me how lucky I am.

Night Night

Night.
The best time to shoot.
Here are the fruits of the labor.

Who's The New Kid?

Friday, 1 May 2009

What's up fellow Whoringtons and readers! I'm the latest recruit to the blog, after being asked to join along by Kevin. If you guys don't know much about me, (as I presume you don't) I'm probably the baby of the contributors as I'm a college student in London, with hobbies ranging from photography, and fixed gear riding. I've always had a creative mind, so I thought I'd express it through photographs, which will hold the majority of my contribution I guess...

Be

Be.
Taken with a Holga. Three exposures. Fuji Provia film.

I've been bookmarking any cool photography articles.
I will begin posting those very soon.

Film vs. Digital

Thursday, 9 April 2009

Film. Creativity that needs no batteries.

Digital. Creativity with an endless supply of ammo.

The City I Love

Monday, 30 March 2009

Some photos I took yesterday in Brick lane and around Liverpool street after we wrapped the shoot. Trying to get back into photography again. Been a while and I'm a tad rusty.

First pic is on Oxford street though, not out east like the rest.

The Flow

Saturday, 28 March 2009

Trying to break break break into the whole collage game.
Who knows what will come of this.

For all the photographers out there, Kodak's new 400 Tmax is that shiz.
Word up on it. Very sharp film. Just got my first roll of the new batch.
