Kseniya Simonova - Sand Animation

Thursday, 3 September 2009

I think I've seen something like this before, can't remember where or if it was her. Still beautiful to watch.

The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt! - Christmas Light Jamboree

Theophilus London

The Clipse - Keys Open Doors

The Clipse feat. Kanye West - Kinda Like A Big Deal

There's a "better" video floating around, but as you readers may have guessed by now; I'm a big fan of the crowd feel.

The Roots, I've been thinking about picking up the tuba since that night.

Lykke Li and The Roots

Also there that night: Cobra Starship. Passion Pit, I had to put the camera down, they went in. The Noisettes also performed unannounced. The Clipse replaced Drake who dropped out at the last minute due to injury. Probably related to the ACL and the recent incident where he collapsed on stage.

X-Games First Ever BMX Double Frontflip

I love the X-Games, to the point I actually hold my breath whenever one of these psychotic athletes take an unscripted faceplant from 40 feet in the air, followed loyally by whatever contraption they chose to eject themselves from at the last possible split-second. It's one of the true genuine sports left. While these athletes are sponsored, they honestly do this for love and push their bodies to unprecedented limits for nothing more than the glory. Anthony Napolitan first BMX double frontflip. Witness!

He didn't win the competition but whatever.

PTwitty!

Thursday, 9 April 2009

I'm not sure how many of you have twitter (mine is here), but if you do, i'm sure you've seen Diddy's antics @iamdiddy ... and it seems like each week or so he has a new "motivational" phrase for his PTwitty followers.

I do not know why I wasn't posting these before, they're gold.

The phrase for this week is "LOCK IN" ... shame on me for thinking it was in reference to the Mos Def episode of House.

Saturday Morning Cartoons

Saturday, 4 April 2009

If you ever wanted that rave experience, but you're too lazy to actually snort, smoke, drink, grope, and get your ass handed back to you on a gravel platter, here's a nice little short I stumbled upon that packages such an awesome night on the town into a first-person POV animated short. Walt Disney would be so proud.

For our second program, we salute our distinguished men in uniform who've kept us all safe from the COBRA organization for nearly four decades.

Blanco Nino out.

First Joaquin, now John...hmmm...

Monday, 9 March 2009

With people like Joaquin Phoenix jumping on the Hip Hop train, you could say that rap is free for all to board. No tickets are needed, just the courage to board the train. One person who kinda has a ticket, and isn't using it, is John Mayer. John Mayer - the singer....the dude who keeps dumping Jennifer Aniston and taking her back...no? Well, he wins Grammys and makes 'easy listening' hits so I'm sure he doesn't know who your ass is either! Anyways, he's a funny guy. Oh and if you haven't seen this video of him working in the studio with Kanye West, you're three years late as to why he has this imaginary hip hop boarding pass.

Today, whilst frequenting that MyTube I came across this video of him making a beat on an MPC and acting silly whilst kinda taking the biscuit out of Kanye's style, in a nice way. Either way, the beat sounds alright to me so I wouldn't mind if he did a 'Phoenix'. I'm sure Kanye would back it too!

P.S. ....It seems he is using the exact MPC I have..just thought I'd mention that....haha

Mythblazers : Episode Three

Tuesday, 3 February 2009

One of my favourite indie rappers Curren$y returns with a third installment of his Mythblazers series.

In this episode, the weed connoisseur teaches you how to eliminate the smell of the five fingered plant from your house, in between competing in a quiz game with his boy sober then high.

Entertaining stuff. Great promotion for his forthcoming "This ain't no mixtape" album/mixtape, can't wait.

Give Me Eight Minutes

And I'll show you all the damage one man caused in eight years

But the man taking over is not only loved by many but also down with the hip street slang. Watch 1:04 onwards.

Yup, we straight. You gotta love a president with street slang in his vocab, I do.

"Ooookay! I'm Re Loaded!"

Wednesday, 31 December 2008

My boy Jabari Johnson over at hiphopgame.com recently caught up with Pain In Da Ass. If you don't know who PIDA is then I have to ask, have you ever listened to any of the Roc A Fella golden era releases?

PIDA did a lot of the creative interludes on some classic...Ok, classic might be too great an accolade to throw on every golden era Roc A Fella album he was on. So, we'll go with memorable.

So yeah, PIDA did many of the funny interludes on the memorable ROC golden era releases. Hear what he has to say and what he's been up to.

Funny interview.

There's quite a lot of profanity on this so beware if you are at work.

Part One.

Part Two.

NBA 2K9 Tour NYC Stop (Q-Tip x The Cool Kids x Pac Div x The Knux)

Wednesday, 3 December 2008

Last night the NBA 2K9 Tour - great game by the way and features "Pennies" by The Cool Kids - rocked NYC's Highline Ballroom. Being the second to last stop, Philly's next, they of course had to go out with a cannonball splash and so they did. I'll let an obsessive amount of videos speak the rest:

The Knux

Pac Div - Women Problems

The Cool Kids - Gin & Juice x '88 x Children's Story

Then this happened. Always a party.

The Cool Kids feat. that kid from superbad - The Humphrey Dance

Oh you thought it was a party then? Pac Div hop on to get their dance on.

The Cool Kids x Pac Div x Werdplay - Black Mags feat. Pac Div Dance

The Cool Kids - Pennies (NBA 2K9 Hit Single)

Then The Abstract just takes it to another level. In your lifetime, Q-Tip, SEE HIM. Even Mos Def had to stroll through the crowd to get backstage for a good seat.

Q-Tip - Fever x Oh My God

Q-Tip - You

Then he assaulted his MPC. Great band, too. If anyone knows the name to that song in the background, help me out.

Q-Tip - Freaking his MPC

P's.

PBS Frontline: Merchants of Cool

Tuesday, 25 November 2008

"...and that's the paradox of cool hunting; it kills what it finds. As soon as a marketer finds cool, it stops being cool."

Old, but worthwhile documentary on commercializing "cool".

Really though, I don't get these commercials:

P.S.
Shout-out to Cornerstone, but come on, scooters in the office?

"Far Eastern people are aliens"

Tuesday, 14 October 2008

A statement made by my boy regarding the technological advancement of Japanese and other oriental peoples. I think he just may be onto something.

SEOUL (AFP) - South Korean researchers said Monday they have developed a robot which can dance and get emotional when it's not tackling the chores.Mahru can move its lips, eyebrows and even pupils freely to make faces and can emit two kinds of fragrances to match its emotions. It can move upper body parts freely while walking on its legs.

The robot was developed by a research team at the state-funded Korea Institute of Science and Technology.

"Mahru, which can dance while walking on its legs, was developed as a humanoid robot capable of working in place of a human," team leader You Bum-Jae said in a statement.

"It will open the way for the commercial use of humanoid robots doing housework."

Mahru is programmed to follow various human movements through an advanced motion capture system, he said, adding it can move its hands freely to cope with any interference or obstacles.

You said his team has also developed a variant Mahru-M robot with sensors which can differentiate faces and objects and deliver things to humans on request.

However, Mahru-M uses a tricycle wheel system to move about.

This also kind of reminds me of one of my favourite Beck videos.

The Smirnoff Experience 10.07.08

Thursday, 9 October 2008

I'm a little late, but saying Tuesday night was f***ing crazy is an understatement. Anytime you have N.E.R.D. playing host to Nas, Grandmaster Flash, Sway (the MTV one), Devlin and Darko, Spank Rock, Buckshot, and Dizzee Rascal, not to mention other familiar faces just swimming the crowd, it's bound be something spectacular. Well, I still haven't quite recovered, so here are some bird's eye view motion picture captures of the madness.

N.E.R.D. and Spank Rock - Everyone Nose

N.E.R.D. - Spaz (featuring some lightweight moshing and a dual drummer duel)

N.E.R.D. and All The Girls Who Stood In Line For The Bathroom - She Wants to Move

Kanye West - Love Lockdown (Official Video)

Tuesday, 7 October 2008

Premiered on Ellen.

DAMN....u got knocked tha...

Friday, 26 September 2008

.....AHAHAHAHA-AAAA!...UUUUHHAAAAAHAHAHA....AHaaa ahaaa...wooooo......
I'm sorry but this video really did brighten up my day. Considering that I'm goin through a lot of drama with finding uni accomodation (I've been telling everyone) this clip entertained me.

If you are familiar with the MTV show from G's to Gents you would know about the beef between two contestants, Kesan and E6. For those who don't know, I'll fill you in....Kesan and E6...had beef.

Excuse the bluntness-Ihavenounihouse-so, Kesan was constantly arguing with other contestants, or "haters", which lead to him leaving the show, claiming, "...if anyone else touches me...I'm killin' 'em." Now, E6 constantly called Kesan a liar, he even nicknamed him 'I'm a real boy'....a reference to Pinocchio, the growing nose etc. Obviously, E6 had major issues with him.

This clip shows E6 backstage at the reunion show airing out these issues in the form of 'waste bars' [anyone see when E6 tried to freestyle for Irv Gotti?HAHA]...Kesan overhears E6 and shows his "appreciation"...then runs off!

Note: "...after he gets punched his hat spins like he's in a Looney Tunes cartoon".....so true.

And just because you're wearing glasses doesn't mean I can't see you reading bars off your blackberry E6...nothing gets past me eh...

I couldn't find embedded original video with audio to post but if your humor is like mine you will probably click the link below.
E6 GETS SUCKA PUNCHED ON ON MTV!!!

The Cool Kids Kick Off Green Label Sound

Wednesday, 17 September 2008

The Cool Kids performing the first single from Green Label Sound, Delivery Man.

'88 (mixed with Children's Story, etc.)

Last night in NYC, Green Label Sound officially set it off with The Cool Kids,

Brooklyn rock duo Matt & Kim,
and Flosstradamus for the "singles only" record label launch. Hit the linkage for more footage because Chuck says so... even though it was dark.

"I smell hateration..is that you 50?"

Tuesday, 16 September 2008

If I'm honest, I cannot stand Kanye's 'Love Lockdown' (please don't shoot, Roc Money lol). I understand the whole 'ooooh aaaah Kanye and his beard is taking the whole music scene into a new psychedelic direction' hype but the simplicity in the song is ruined by his voice (a la T-Pain) and that bait piano chiming away, arrogantly.

I'm also quite confident that no matter how much rinsing this tune will get,I will never be swayed...NEVER!

Anyways, 50 Cent (the guy who is ACTUALLY a gorilla, hence G-Unit) feels me on this one...in one fell swoop he attacks Kanye's courage (because 50 is not creative enough to try new music) and starts beef for media attention(so he can save money on advertising costs for his new album). Now that's what I call a business plan!

Nas @ Webster Hall

Friday, 29 August 2008

Nas + Live Band + Free = Backpackgasm! He didn't perform much from the new album, but seeing as how I've never seen Nas live before last night, the trip down memory lane was appreciated.

Nas - Hero

Nas - NY State of Mind

How the mighty have fallen

K Ci and JoJo on stage whilst touring Australia and New Zeland billed as Jodeci but without Dalvin and Devante or supporting act Johnny Gill.

Some comments from youtube left by concert goers.

"I attended this concert and was extremely dissapointed. I paid over $90 to see Jodeci and ended up getting kci and jojo with no devante or mr dalvin. Even the support act of johnny gill did not happen. At the start of the concert kci and jojo dissed devante and mr dalvin by saying that they are the voices of jodeci and therefore they are jodeci. More than half the songs were kci and jojo songs and only about 4 or 5 jodeci songs". - aliyiah112

"I was there, it was an absolute fucking joke.that deserved a grammy award for the best act." - ozyjoey

"I hope Jojo is ok.

But come on, it was supposed to be a Jodeci and Johnny Gill concert and " Due to unforeseen circumstances" Devante was not here, same shit for Mr Dalvin and Gill doesn't show up too.

I hope that the peoples who spend 90$ got their money back" - Gi2les82

How did it come to this?
