SUCK OUT!

Saturday, 5 September 2009

I’ll keep this short and sweet people!

SUCK OUT!
Young London's response to the BNP

This huge event is happening today with aim to raise awareness of the extremity of the BNP’s policies and give young Londoners a chance to express their opinions on the issue.

Featuring comedy, music and poetry as well as guest speakers holding discussions to educate the masses,
this is the amazing schedule to up that middle finger at Nick Griffin et al:

SUCK OUT! Will be taking place today from 1pm right through to 11pm. It features my favourites The Kemistry and Maverick Sabre and all finishes off with my favourite DJ Ordio Kid.

There’ll be a short film on the BNP and performances from Natty, Jamie Howard and James Massiah, all of whom have put on amazing shows every time I’ve seen them.

You also get a chance to see a lot of acts that you may not have seen before. I’ll be in attendance screaming and cheering as always, so if you see me come and say hi :o)

Before My Sugar-High Wears Out...

Wednesday, 29 July 2009

...I don’t use this word often but they are supercool! Ya heard? SUPERCOOL… like superfly!

Apologies for my hype (and the use of the word superfly!); firstly I’m a tad high on sugar and secondly, I’m excited about finally getting to see The Kemistry again, this time performing at the YOYO event at the Notting Hill Arts Club!

In the short time that they’ve been on the scene, The Kemistry have amassed a huge following and performed to a variety of crowds. I thought I was their biggest fan until I met some of the other fans at their recent gigs!

Featured in Street Talk, named as the “one to watch” by Boxfresh and tipped as “one of London’s hot new bands” by Artrocker, The Kemistry are a schweeeet mix and blend of talent from Woodford and Hackney comprising of Bare Beats on production and Kemi on lead vocals, respectively.

Now on their 2nd EP, Bare Beats produces an effortlessly unique sound and Kemi’s vocals are so distinctive that they would be recognised anywhere.

A rare combination, especially in a time where the industry seems to be becoming increasingly homogeneous.

Catch The Kemistry at
YOYO at the Notting Hill Arts Club in London
tomorrow at 8pm.
