"I'll Throw A Radio At You, Crazy!"

Tuesday, 25 August 2009

You're probably thinking what you see before you is either, a hoax or some elaborately designed radio made to look like a rock.

I'm sorry to inform you that both your guesses are wrong. What you see before you is in fact a radio, made from, yes you guessed it...a rock.

It's the work of a Danish (Those car ray zeee Euros) designer called, Guus Oosterbaan. If you take a look at his blog here, you will see a video of him actually playing the radio.

Who said rock radio was dead, eh?

Nothing Like Skating the Day Away in Some SB's

Monday, 3 August 2009

I am a huge skater boy fan. There's nothing like watching a dude in some fresh SB's ride his skateboard around the city. So when I saw this Nike SB ad, I fell in love! It features boarder P.Rod, and has cameos by Kobe, Koston, and the one and only Ice Cube. The ad is fashioned after the classic It Was A Good Day video as the song plays in the background. Great idea Nike!!!

The Sartorialist Book: Coming Soon

Saturday, 1 August 2009

"This has been a labor of love. Taking the pictures, editing the pictures, arranging the pictures, doing most of the writing while I was still in Phoenix after my Dad died. It's hard to put into words how one feels looking at their own work presented like this - so I won't even try.

I hope you enjoy the book and I will keep you posted about the book signing tour, the SartoriaLUST pop-up shops, and any other events surrounding the launch of the book."

August 12th type soon

HRH The Queen

Thursday, 16 July 2009

Milly mills, Millytant Mills and my personal favourite I scream down the phone and in the street at her when we hang out, MILLSDILLA!

Even though shes a fully fledged family member of the clan Whorington, never to hold any members of the clan back. She has branched out and started her own blog.

It is called, Airs n Graces and I suspect the name has to do with her love/obsession of dope footwear. It's only just gone live but give it a few days to get content brimming, so in the meantime, bookmark it and make sure you visit daily.

Fold That Plug

Sunday, 28 June 2009

The humble British home plug gets a facelift. Great news for Macbook, who I shall soon be joining. But enough of me, feast your eyes on this one of those, "I should have thought of that" moments.

Rocking Your Computer

Tuesday, 23 June 2009

With the craze for wacky and novel USB sticks at fever pitch, get ready to have people humming "Eye of the tiger" every time you pull your USB stick out and insert it into a computer (No innuendo) with these Rocky III themed gadgets.

Is it me or does the Apollo Creed one look like he's enjoying being inserted into a computer a bit too much?

In Bb 2.0 - whaaaat?

Comic Book Geeks

Tuesday, 19 May 2009

I met Thai on Sunday for a meeting to discuss some things. Afterwards we hit up Forbidden Planet, London's biggest comic book store.

Here's what happened.

Check back tomorrow for part II when we go hunt for the Spiderman Noir comic book.

In other news, I also managed to finally get my hands on a pair of syndicate suicidal tendencies...Ohhhh. Ok, I'm done.

Stay Fly In The Face Of Swine

Monday, 18 May 2009

With all this talk of swine flu it was just a matter of time before people started to build products round it.

Illustrator Yoriko Yoshida has come up with various colourful surgical masks to keep you safe from the, if you believe the pessimists, impending second wave of swine flu in the autumn.

Touching The Future

Wednesday, 6 May 2009

Some more stuff J brought to my attention. It's a Microsoft advert or promo if you wish, looking at how everyday working life might look in the future.

Everything is touch screen, even the newspapers. It's also very clean, crisp and glossy. I pray the world can truly look like this.

Watch the video HERE.

The Reset In Pictures

Last weekend many of London's premiere independent street wear brands came together for the reset. The event is the first of it's kind where you could get all these great brands to buy underneath one roof. Which so happened to be the Nike 1948 store in trendy Shoreditch, East London.

I attended the event and although I turned up slightly late, due to a prior meeting, I really enjoyed the vibe and the turn out was brilliant. My boy ALL CAPS had a stall there and the BNTL family was out in full force to support theirs.

HERE are some pictures from the event courtesy of Trinotron, one of the brands featured.

The picture above was taken by Matt Benson. Can't wait for the next one in August as well as more pictures of the event from Matt.

What Happens When...

Tuesday, 5 May 2009

The world of Internet acronyms and humour meet the real world?

Some clever person with a great sense of humour and the ability of spotting a soon to be massive trend invents, the fail sticker.

How dope is that?! The potential of this is a lot, honestly it is. Just think of all those billboards you see on a daily basis and hate.

There's this new Daily Telegraph one I see and don't get, a fail sticker across it would show my disapproval at the ad agency that decided to be overly clever, as well as provide passer bys with some humour.

And it does not stop there. The company that makes the Fail stickers also make LOL ones too! I can't wait till they drop a ROFLMAO one, now that would be truely brilliant.

If you don't know what LOL or ROFLMAO stands for then you are all a bunch of...

I keed, I keed.

To Boldly Go

Tuesday, 28 April 2009

After many months of telling me soon, 3 mobile have finally gotten their silly little purple hands (It's the company's official colour) on a blackberry. Cause for joy? Maybe.

Why maybe, you ask? Have I not been killing them on the blog about not having great business phones? Yes. The reason I say maybe is because they only have the Bold and not the Curve II like I wanted.

"You're such a complainer", I hear some of you say. Well, yes. British people need to complain more to make sure things go our way. Miss me with that stiff upper lip crap.

Anyway, I asked a few people who have Blackberrys how well the Bold fares and I got some good responses, although a couple were not happy about it's bulkiness. Something I'm weary of since I wear skinny/slim jeans..."Is that a phone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?".

Another thing, do I really want to continue with my contract on 3 or wait till October to get a contract with O2, which is pretty much British Telecom masquerading as a mobile phone company. Not that I'm in any way peeved off at that cause they get coverage all over the UK and further...It's BT, man c'mon.

Oh yeah, below is a nifty little video J sent me. He's currently got a blackberry but being an apple head, wants to get an iPhone and trying to convince me to see the benefits of one. Meh, iPhone equals toy. I want to do serious business.

A prize for anyone that can tell me the name of the artist and song being played on the phone app.

You Love To Hate

Saturday, 18 April 2009

The kid Bafic is a big non fan of Gordon Brown so he's decided to start a movement.

If you want to show your support for his dislike, hit him up at Bafic.edem@gmail.com for pricing.

Hurry though, he's only printing forty of those bad boys. By the way, the Bafic you see in the picture over the tee will not be on the finished product.

Clever Clogs

Thursday, 16 April 2009

Another of those smart adverts I love, this time from Sprint announcing the arrival of 4G.

Wait, if 4G has arrived does it not mean 3 mobile will now have to change their name? Stupid network provider, I went to one of their shops today to enquire about when they will be getting Blackberries and they said May 20th, but it's the bold.

I don't want no damn bold! I want the curve II, F£*king ell! I really hate them, only a few more months and I'm off that damned network forever...Never again!

Murder In The First

Friday, 10 April 2009

I saw this picture earlier on over at, The Sartorialist and I had to get up from my seat and clap. Bit strange considering that I'm at home on my own, but I had to.

I have decided, although it's been a long time coming to update my look once again and with the urging of my good friend Mister Lego, I decided to slowly join his fledgling army. Army of what? I hear some say, well the army of the finer dressed gentleman. I'm getting bored of the whole generic street wear look these days, you know the look. High top trainers, latest hype tee etc.

And although I have not dressed like that in almost a year and a half and tend to be more casual, lace ups or deck shoes, slim/skinny jeans, nice shirt cardigan and mac. I have decided it's time to fully embrace the finer sides of, for the lack of a better word, "grown up and sessy fashion". Don't think, oh lord just yet as you can still catch me in some vans and stuff but it's just that that street wear look, has become so boring to me now it's time to update.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, Kevin is continuing his metamorphosis in life from stage to stage and I find it all quite exciting too! It's not just the clothes but my general outlook on life and opinions on certain subjects are changing. I find myself embracing certain things that a few years back I would have opposed, only because I was ignorant to some facts.

Life is beautiful.

Speaking of Mister Lego, aside from writing as part of our extended family BNTL he has resurrected his own solo blog once more. It features a lot of his illustration work and you can contact him via the blog if you need an illustration done. It's called Eatpencil.

Take a look, the brother is amazing at what he does.
